In June of 2025, it was formally announced that Veolia, a multinational company focusing on water, waste, and energy management, had acquired us after months of discussions. This is an exciting time as our capabilities and services expand, as NEDT is one of several companies in the US that they have acquired. Our collection centers and other residential services aren’t going away—they are getting better.
What’s Changing for Our Collection Centers and Services?
While our name is changing, our collection centers, friendly staff, and home services will remain unchanged in the months and years to come. So, while NEDT logos change to Veolia on our buildings, vehicles, and staff shirts, the excellent customer service or capabilities will not go away or be reduced. If anything, they are getting better as we have new options and opportunities to dispose of household hazardous products.
Our Expanded Capabilities as Part of Veolia
With these changes also comes a massive expansion of our capabilities, enhanced sustainability efforts, and the offer of even more services. We’re not the only US or New England business that Veolia has acquired recently; other companies include Ingenium and New England MedWaste. We’re working to bring additional capabilities and services to our customers, including:
- Expanded Options on What We Accept: Working with other Veolia-owned businesses, we’ll have expanded capabilities, especially surrounding medical and controlled substances. Expect updates to the “What We Accept” section shortly!
- More Options for Greener Disposal & Recycling: We’ll have access to a broader disposal network of Veolia-owned and approved third-party facilities, including Veolia’s medical waste treatment and non-hazardous waste consolidation facility in Middleton.
- A Larger Knowledge Base to Help Customers: With our new MA, US, and international specialists, we have a larger knowledge base than ever to help you address household hazardous waste and questions about handling, storage, and disposal.
What’s Happening with Our Website?
By the end of December, we’ll have a new website complete with Veolia branding—a holiday present for both you and us. Much of the content within will be the same, or improved, and you’ll find all the same pages. If you’ve got current pages bookmarked, don’t worry—we’ll have redirect links to the same pages on the new site. Our phone number will also remain the same, which you can find below:
- Phone: 866-769-1621
We want to reiterate this isn’t goodbye. The same staff, customer service, and reliability you’ve come to trust from us, our collection centers, and our home services continue to be here. By joining Veolia and its extensive network of businesses and facilities throughout MA and the US, we have even more capabilities we’re excited to show you on your next stop in. Thank you for your continued trust and business.
