At NEDT, our roots are set in making it easy to dispose of hazardous waste. We started by helping businesses navigate Massachusetts requirements for hazardous waste and remediation, but quickly realized that residents too needed a better way to deal with hazardous household products, which is where our collection centers come in. How quick and simple is it? It’s as convenient as Load Up, Pull Up, and Pay Up to easily dispose of hazardous waste from your home!
Step 1: Load Up Your Household Hazardous Products
The first step is to collect the household hazardous waste that you want to dispose of. A great place to start is to take our quiz! It goes over the most common types of household products, helps you figure out if it’s time to dispose of them, and puts you in contact with our staff to answer questions. We also have a complete What We Accept page that includes all the products we do (and don’t) accept. After that, it’s time to load up your car and come to us!
Don’t want to come to one of our collection centers? We can come to you! Learn more about our pick-up service here.
Step 2: Pull Up at a Household Hazardous Products Collection Center
Your next step after collecting your household hazardous waste (and assuming you’re not using our pick-up option) is to plan your trip! We’ve got multiple Household Hazardous Products Collection Centers that operate on different dates, including weekends. Find them all on our Hours and Directions page. Once you pull up, we’ll take care of all the unloading! See the full user experience in the video below.

Step 3: Pay Up with Our Pay-As-You-Throw Simple Price List
We’re proud to keep our pricing simple! Most of the products we accept are by weight or by unit, making it easy to estimate how much the trip will cost ahead of time—no hidden fees or additional charges. See our full price list here and its companion blog, Keeping Pricing Simple at NEDT’s Household Hazardous Products Collection Centers.
We also partner with several MA Boards of Health to discount our services for their residents! Check with your local board to see if they are already working with us. If they aren’t, have them visit our Boards of Health Services page to learn how to partner with us to help you and other residents.
